During the opening of a show curated by myself and Ben Cook, titled Memory Matter, we displayed an old copier that Ben often uses to generate his works. Throughout the opening, we encouraged viewers to make copies of whatever they had with them — the contents of their pockets, a phone, a tattoo, keys, etc. I then used the many images printed from the copier to create this work, totaling about 8 feet wide. I ripped up the prints, soaked them in water, and adhered them together with methyl cellulose in order to create this bas-relief wall piece.
